Jimmy John's Sprouts Outbreak Salmonella Lawsuit

Salmonella lawyers at Marler Clark represented one of the victims in this outbreak, achieving settlements covering medical expenses, wage loss, and pain and suffering. At this time, this case has been successfully settled.

In January 2018, The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announced an investigation into a multi-state Salmonella Montevideo outbreak linked to sprouts sold at Jimmy John's restaurants.

As of January, 19, 2018, there were 8 reported cases across three states: Illinois (2), Minnesota (1), and Wisconsin (5). The onset dates are from December 20 through January 3, 2018. No hospitalizations or deaths had been reported.

To reduce risk, Illinois health officials requested that all Jimmy John’s restaurants in Illinois remove sprouts from their menus until the end of the investigation.

Jimmy John's announced that it directed all locations to stop serving sprouts as a precautionary measure after receiving seven complaints in Illinois and Wisconsin. The decision was made after an investigation indicated that sprouts purchased from two growers in Minnesota could be linked to the complaints.
